I did some research and found out that Arnold Katz was a photographer who passed away in 2012 in New York City. He still has a photography gallery. But that may not be the person that represents the prank call there are dozens of Arnold Katz in the New York City area . But this is definitely fraud .
Recorded message saying he was from the IRS and that we needed to get a criminal attorney for tax evasion and tax fraud and to call the "IRS" back. He's called twice this morning. Both times I let our machine answer, but I did pick up and the recording kept playing. If he calls again, I'll get the number we're supposed to call back; it started with 305.
Just got a call and let my answering machine pick up. Caller ID said Arnold Katz. I don't answer any number that I do not recognize. About this time every year, I start getting calls from fake IRS people that say I owe back taxes and such or that I committed tax fraud or something of that nature. So, no I am not falling for it. I just feel sorry for any elderly people who fall prey to this sort of nonsense. I read the post above that they used a whistle in the earpiece of the phone....LOL. Think I'll get one of those air horns and blast it into the phone....Bet they never call here again.
