I did some research and found out that Arnold Katz was a photographer who passed away in 2012 in New York City. He still has a photography gallery. But that may not be the person that represents the prank call there are dozens of Arnold Katz in the New York City area . But this is definitely fraud .
Same bs as other calls.... "technical support, I am calling about your computer" I ask what type of computer do I have? Indian woman doesn't know what to say so she repeats herself "I am calling about tech support" I yelled as loud as I could into the phone SCAM!!!!!!!!!! what do you know, she hung up:) Be wary everyone, they use all kinds of BS
Got a call today (4-16-16) at 12:09 pm from what my caller id says is an Arnold Katz. Phone number 718-763-0616. Turned out to be a scammer saying he was from Microsoft. He said my computer was sending out error messages. I told him that I doubt it was sending out errors. He continued to insist that it was. I asked him to tell me what my network interface number was, and I told him I was behind 2 firewalls and a series of professional grade routers. My computer network is a secure network. I also told him I was a computer technician by trade. He could not tell me my network interface number, so I asked him if he could tell me what my mac address was, he spouted off some numbers and letters, which were incorrect. I told him in no uncertain terms (by this point I was yelling into the receiver) not to ever call my house again... "If I've told you once, I've told you a thousand times - DO NOT CALL ME!". And I hung up the phone. I wish the Federal authorities could track these people down and arrest them... these calls are very annoying. PLEASE, if you get calls from these people, report it to your law enforcement agency... keep track of the time of day, date, phone number on caller id, and name if present. Maybe with enough of us providing info, they can finally track these people down and incarcerate them...
