These people have been calling me for about a month or so, I would return the call and no one would answer so I would leave a message telling them that I know this is a scam and to lose my number. So today I get another call from them and called the number back immediately, this woman answered and said this was a Legal mediation firm, I told her I owed no money and was not involved in any legal cases and that I knew this was a scam and was going to turn them in to the Better Business Bureau, she said, is this Sonja Babbitt and I said yes, she told me to do whatever I felt I needed to do, she was going to save us both the time and just attach my statement to my file and wished me luck in court!!!! I in turn wished her luck in court as well!!!!

I finally called these ppl back...he says his name is steve carter..said i had 2 counts of felony theft against me for some payday loan i supposedly took out about 5 yrs ago..which i never have. He did have my name but he had my soc security # wrong! The 1 thing that freaked me out was he had my bank account #. Therefore i called my bank to report it. He wouldn't give me the phone# of this so called payday loan company neither. He did say the loan was from equity funding. Never heard of them. I reported him to the ftc but ive reported them numerous of times & they still called.
I have been getting these calls for the last 2 months. There is a Mark Jefferson @ 720-381-1628 called 2 times, Ronald Jones @ 303-562-1923 called 6 times, Julie Hyamin @ 720-458-9694 called 1 time, all stating from a legal mediation firm. A new one started today Archie Johnston a private investigator @ 720-458-9694.... Make it stop!!! I was a victim of identity theft from age 18-21. After my case was taken to court and the things where taken off my credit I was told that I would have a red flag on my account for 10 years, so I know that someone has not stolen my identity again!
If they continue to bother you, and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion. You might have to yell at the scammer and talk over him or her. Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved. Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now. If you can find them.
I received a voicemail from this message last night and today. Both times from a "Shirley" or something like that Carmichael. Left messages saying my social security number and bank account were being investigated and charges would be filed in my state if I did not contact them immediately and ended the with "govern yourself accordingly". I called back. Once I told her I knew this was a scam and asked her questions about who I supposedly wrote bad checks with and what information she had as far as dates went, she promptly told she was not the one being interrogated and would send the information down to my state to be processed and then hung up on me. When I tried to call her back I got a voice mailbox. I have had enough of these people. This is the third time a different company tried to scam me in about 2 months. I am contacting my lawyer today to see what kind of charges can be filed against them. Enough is enough.
