Telemarketers for Foundation American Veterans
by: Anonymous
Associated Community Services (ACS) is a telemarketing firm based in Southfield, Michigan which reportedly filed for bankruptcy & owes more than $15 million in unpaid taxes to the IRS and more than $1 million in unpaid state tax. ACS is owned & operated by Robert W. Burland, Jr. and Richard T. Cole.
ACS has been cited by the Michigan Atty General as being in violation of numerous laws and ACS retains up to 90% of funds received for telemarketing services on behalf numerous charities, including the Foundation for American Veterans. ACS badgers it’s victims repeatedly at all hours with high pressure tactics.
The owners are con artists and should be held account for their activities. I urge you to contact the owners and give them a dose of their own medicine. I’m sure they will be happy to hear from you at any time of the day.:-)
SCAM - not listed on CharityNavigator. If you're tempted to give to the FAV (guy said Foundation for Active Veterans) - donate instead to a charity we've all heard of; like AFA (Air Force Association), CharityNavigator has several to choose from.
Have been getting multiple calls from this organization, from multiple numbers. I no sooner block one than they call from another. Looked them up on the Better Business Bureau; FAV hasn't given the BBB any of the information they requested in order to rate how much of the donations they obtain goes to veterans' causes. Ridiculous the number of times they call... obviously they organization cares ZERO about the telemarketing company that makes the calls.. I said no 20 times.. but they still give dead numbers to people trying to make some money.. sad.. sick.. and obviously more concerned about making money rather than getting actual donations. Disgusting
With all due respect, after 20 times, does it make sense to keep saying "no"? Ignore or block might get your peace and privacy back. Talking to sammers and fake charities is a no win for you.
