I told the woman that I would not care to donate cash but I would be willing to conduct free breast exams.
She spoke rudely to me....I hung up with the offer still open.
The caller ID said Lyons, which is a near-by city. The woman caller said she was accepting a small donation for breast cancer. I am on a VERY limited income and no job, so I declined. At least the lady said she understood and hung up.
Left message:
"Hello, this is Sabrina calling from Bioden (?) Group Boulder. Just had a couple of questions for you. Please give me a call back at 434-363-4234. Again that's 434-363-4234. Thanks, speak with you soon."
Google search on the callback number had no detailed results. I will not be calling Sabrina back.
This is a poorly done interactive robocall from a fraudulent "charity" called The Breast Cancer Society. This organization, along with several other related groups, lied about donating millions of dollars worth of goods and services to Guatemala, so they're almost definitely lying about the services they provide elsewhere as well. There's an article here: http://www.cnn.com/2014/02/10/world/americas/ ... ions/index.html
So this group, along with many other groups that call to ask for charitable donations, is little more than a fraudulent 'business' that is able to pose as a nonprofit by faking donations. The ONLY service they consistently provide is the service of bothering you with phone calls. They're taking money from real charity, and lining their pockets. They are nothing short of evil.
Don't donate to this group, but if they call you, feel free to mess around with their voice system. There are several distinct recorded voices, so if you ask it questions, totally different voices will answer. And if you ask it if it's a robocall or a recording, it'll say "Do I sound that bad? Hahahaha," and it sounds really bizarre and creepy.
