My name is Robert D (son) and I'm my mother's caregiver. At approximately 7:38 pm MST, 10/25/13, C4C FOP CO called and asked for my mother, Mary (83). I replied I was speaking for my mother and he hung up. I googled number and realized that it's a possible fraud call, even though nothing was said or monies exchanged, but she is on the no call list. It seems they are reaching out to the elderly and we know how vulnerable they can be.
I'm getting to the point, when answering the phone, to say, "Who's this?" and nothing more until they reply.
If number is being sold, they now know this is a legit number. It's sad we live in a world of sociopaths and psychopaths.
Got a call from this number about 8 AM. A man asked for somebody who doesn't live here and when I said so, he mumbled something about checking his list. While he was rustling papers I hung up. I used my DIGITONE device to block that number. I don't know who he was or what he wanted but I didn't know him and wasn't about to waste my time on him. I won't be hearing from him again... EVER. How satisfying in that? :-)
Jean, the devil of it is that like the lock on your front door only keeps out the honest, the do not call list only keeps those who obey the law from calling you. And only then if they decide not to call.....
This number calls allllllll the time. I never listen to them. I've asked before to take me off their list, etc. Doesn't work. So I just ignore the calls. Corporations for Character, on behalf of the Fraternal Order of Police? Um yeah. I'm not too supportive of law enforcement anyhow so don't be asking me for money. Research your audience :D
