Complete scam. I received the exact same call. Never identified me by name, only says he's a private investigator and that my social, telephone and bank account numbesr were linked to an investigation. When I called back they immediately asked me to verify my social. When I declined, they hung up and told me they were going to "download" the necessary paperwork to my county's courthouse to have me arrested immediately. That was 3 months ago, and as you can see I'm still free and have never been incarcerated or even approached by the police about this imaginary investigation. It's a ploy to get your social and scam you into wiring money to them via Western Union. I reported this number to the GA Attorney General's office.
Got a call. Left a message saying it was Michael Thompson a private investigator, saying my Social Security number and bank account number was tie to an investigation. Called back from a different number some woman answer the phone and would not give me any information about the company only the name "Legal Mediation". Then she was very rude and hung up in my face. Sounds like a scam to me. Got a second call and they left the exact same voice mail. I think the person calling is a recording.
I've received now 2 calls from this number. I called my bank directly as they would be notified if there was any sort of investigation and they show nothing. It seems to me a scam. If anyone is actually able to get to the bottom of this please post!
Someone by the name of Michael Thompson an investigator has been calling my cell phone several times yesterday and leaving messages that my social security number is being investigated for a recent transaction that I made and that I should contact him. A friend called back the number and no one answered. Somehow, he called again today and did not leave a message. I called from my LAN and the call did not go through. I am blocking his number for good.
