Complete scam. I received the exact same call. Never identified me by name, only says he's a private investigator and that my social, telephone and bank account numbesr were linked to an investigation. When I called back they immediately asked me to verify my social. When I declined, they hung up and told me they were going to "download" the necessary paperwork to my county's courthouse to have me arrested immediately. That was 3 months ago, and as you can see I'm still free and have never been incarcerated or even approached by the police about this imaginary investigation. It's a ploy to get your social and scam you into wiring money to them via Western Union. I reported this number to the GA Attorney General's office.
Got the same call 2 days in a row called back 10 times with *67 and no answer but sent to voice mail. message was EXACTLY the same 2 days in a row no difference in the way the guy talked. looked number up on Google and it says it was for roofin professionals in denver. has to be a scam
They seem to be at it again-- received calls from this number for the past 3 days, 3-5 times a day on my cell. Message is exactly the same and never get anyone if I call on my LAN phone. Scammers just changed numbers.
I got a call couldn't understand the company name said I was going to be served for a payday loan unpaid. They had all kinds of personal info on me. I asked for paperwork they said you will get that when you stand in front of a judge! Then he called me an idiot and hung up the phone!!!
A phone call, email or text message from a supposed debt collector is not legally sufficient evidence of debt.
The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) includes statements such as this:
* Every collector must send you a written “validation notice” telling you how much money you owe within five days after they first contact you. This notice also must include the name of the creditor to whom you owe the money, and how to proceed if you don’t think you owe the money. ["Written" means snailmailed - US Mail ... not emailed or texted]
Therefore, if that caller wants you to pay immediately, before you get the written validation notice via snailmail, or if the caller wants payment via Green Dot, MoneyGram, Western Union, prepaid gift card or other untraceable means, then the call is definitely not legitimate.
IF you wish to communicate with the supposed collector / creditor, visit the following page, for example "Action Letters" to snailmail:

If you KNOW you owe no money, or believe the call was from a fake debt collector, please take the time to read this:
