What a moron this guy was. New he was a scammer. I didn't even give him a chance to tell me what he was scamming. He called back 5 times. Asked him if his mother new he did this and he should try to go earn an honest living. I slung a slew of expletives at him that would make the movie Goodfellas proud. He ended up hanging up on me. Guess I got the last word in. Can't imagine he'd be foolish enough to cal back if he knows whats good for him. :-)
I received a call from a heavy accented Indian man with lots of noise in the background like a call center. He told me his name was John and asked me if I remembered hm fixing my computer before. That was a lie. He told me to press the Microsoft flag and r and he would tell me what to type in the box. After I refused, he tried another tactic to win my trust. He gave me a telephone number, 8006097139, and told me that I could call him back, then I will trust him and he will continue giving me instructions. It is a shame that his new tactic will work for many people because most of the time callbacks don't work. I just used some choice words and hung up. I wasn't supposed to know that the number he gave me and the number he called me from were different.
Scammer
This same number called 3X -- one after another. I Googled the number and found this page. Many thanks to all who wrote that this is a scammer. I blocked the number.
Indian scammer called wanting me to turn off my firewall. He didn't like it when I told his I had a PhD in Computer Science and knew exactly what he was doing. He was even more upset when I told him to take his right are and stick up his colon. He said he "should probably hang up now", and I told him that was a good idea.
