This company robo-calls my private "do not call" registered line at least once a day, all hours, from morning until night. The answering machine announces "First Credit Se." I have never done business with this company, do not have any accounts past due, and have exceptional credit. I do not answer unsolicited phone calls, either. I have reported them, but it makes no difference. What is the next level of investigation required to get them to STOP?
DEAR CALLER,
I have been the same phone call for the past two/three weeks. I did the same thing you did. When I didn't give them my number they said they needed in order to tell me why they were calling, when I didn't give it to them, they became very rude. Thanks again for letting us fellow callers know we are not alone.
My experience is very much the same as the above. When I did talk to the "rude lady" she asked for my daughter and I asked what was the nature of her call and she got all wound up. I then asked the name of her company and she said that 2 companies are represented there and that she could tell me only if I gave her information regarding my daughter. I asked her again what the company name was and she started getting really rude so I hung up on her. By the way, the call started with the 800 number caller leaving a message saying it was urgent that I call the 732 area code number.
I wouldn't be so quick to call this unsolicited or "spam" calling. They clearly receive information from companies --in my case Gold's Gym-- that we've been overdue on payments --in my case 2 month's worth, because I changed credit card numbers-- and are calling to collect. I didn't want to give them my cell phone number they'd called me at; instead, I called from my work phone, which shows up as "Private". Then I told them that I had gotten behind on payments to Gold's Gym but that I'd already given the Gym my new credit card number. I then gave them my last name and first initial, and they repeated my first name back to me from their files, so clearly the have the information already. Hope this helps.
There maybe something to an earlier statement about Golds Gym, I have had to do the exact same thing due to a stolen credit card, and have not gone to Gold's to make it right yet. So, it could very well be Golds related.
