This company robo-calls my private "do not call" registered line at least once a day, all hours, from morning until night. The answering machine announces "First Credit Se." I have never done business with this company, do not have any accounts past due, and have exceptional credit. I do not answer unsolicited phone calls, either. I have reported them, but it makes no difference. What is the next level of investigation required to get them to STOP?
THIS IS HOW TO GET ANY AND ALL 800 NUMBERS FROM CALLING YOU.
WRITE TO: DIRECT MARKETING ASSN.; DMA TELEPHONE PREFERENCE SERVICE; BOX 643; CARMEL, NY 10512.
STATE YOUR NAME AND PHONE NUMBER AND GIVE THE NUMBER/NUMBERS YOU WANT THEM TO BLOCK OUT FOR YOU.
IT MAY TAKE ABOUT 2 WEEKS FOR THEM TO HANDLE THIS BUT THEY WILL DO IT FOR YOU.
This lady calls and says you really want to talk to me and leaves the phone number 732-726-5692. However, the call comes to my cell f=phone from 800-392-4029
Hey guys, it isn't a scam, like the top messages above, it's a collection agency. They probably have quite a few companies they are collecting for and need your phone number to find out who you are so they can find out which company you owe and for how much.
Be responsible, pay your bills on time or speak to them to work it out. Yeah, they are rude and definitely should be reported so hopefully something will be done to get rules changed.
Another number associated with this that comes up is 800-392-4029.
The message these people leave is hilarious. They never identify anyone by name - ever. They only use the pronoun "You." Then, they lay a guilt trip on you saying it is "imperative" and "in your best interest" to call them back. If it is really that important, they should try addressing the person by name in the voice mail. Otherwise, I will assume it is the wrong number or not know who the message is for. There are many "yous" living in my house. :)
