They do not need to call my home after 9:00 at night. I find it hard to be nice to the "student" who: wakes my children three nights in a row with a post 9:30 pm phone call and who tells me that because they are a non-profit they can call my home at whatever time they choose.
Furthermore, I gave my annual donation already and don't appreciate repeated phone calls asking for more money.
Many of you who were not affiliated with Rutgers may have phone numbers that former Rutgers alumni had in the past. I receive calls on average once a week during the day....and as a Rutgers alumnus I DO HAVE A JOB (answer to snide remark above)> I am a member of the class of 1970...and I know the University needs donations from graduates-ALL colleges seek funds from their alumni!. These are college kids so be nice to them...and give if you don't already. You can block their calls if you no longer wish them to call...unless you are still old school and have a rotary phone. :)
actually, telefund isn't workstudy - i worked there in college, any student can apply. it's one of the best paying jobs on campus because the people you call are horribly mean to you because 1) they hate rutgers athletics and don't want to pay for the football team 2) are eating dinner 3) it's past 9 pm 4) they already gave rutgers enough money and 5) the script telefund gave you if awful, and if you go off script you can get fired.
if you don't make the ask, you get fired. if you don't get any gifts, you get fired. most kids that work there usually only last about two or three weeks. it was super stressful and soul crushing, but it definitely helped me not eat ramen every day and save for a car so i could get a real job off campus.
Read previous info, not an alumni. There's is no name to the number, they don't leave any message, just a blank 1 minute voicemail. For you people thinking it's Rutger's students...are you sure it's not a scam?
