They do not need to call my home after 9:00 at night. I find it hard to be nice to the "student" who: wakes my children three nights in a row with a post 9:30 pm phone call and who tells me that because they are a non-profit they can call my home at whatever time they choose.
Furthermore, I gave my annual donation already and don't appreciate repeated phone calls asking for more money.
Well as a former student myself all I can say is that I wish there were a way that when they called, I could send my fist right through the phone and right down their f------- throat!!!. Hating their job, doing it because they need money, is NOT an answer. I picked up that call once and let the moron go through his entire pitch and then I started interrogating him so that after at least 10 minutes he knew he wasn't getting anywhere with me. He hung up on me. Though I enjoyed me years at Rutgers, because of this unending attempts to solicit me as made me sour and I will never contribute, sponsor, attend or have anything to do with Rutgers. Mission accomplished.
Just emailed them, hoping to get the phone calls to stop. I'm a student, and I'm getting calls to donate money as an alumni. It doesn't make much sense. Also they are calling me close to 10 pm when people in my house are sleeping. This is ridiculous.
I have been getting calls from this number several times a year since my daughter started attending Rutgers two years ago. It is some kind of for profit organization that exploits college kids and preys on the sypathies of concerned parents by having the kids ask for money. Rutgers should be ashamed of themselves giving out parents phone numbers and trying to get more money from an already over priced institution, in fact the most expensive state college in the world. The president of the college and probably all the teachers make more money than I do...and since I am middle class (which is really struckling in this hellish state of new jersey) my daughter does not qualify for finanacial assistance. I am paying over 25k a year..and still that isn't enough! I get calls once a week from college kids begging for more money!
I have been dealing with these calls by remembering the 732-839-2008 number and every time it pops up on my caller ID, I pick up ASAP and HANG UP.
However, I have been told that the best way to get these calls to stop is to tell the solicitor that you prefer to donate once a year at your discretion and if they call you again you will never donate again.
