They also called me today i've already contacted a lawyer in the family about this. Such a shame they try to scare people. A lawsuite needs to be filed against them if they can be found.
Yeup it's a scam going around. If you were in any type of trouble or something like they state, "You have been served" (lol) you would get something in the mail not a phone call.
received call on business/office phone from a Megan, stating she was with wage garnishment and fraud division and that I had been notified. Didn't ask for anyone in particular but called from 407-613-2960 and gave this number to call back on 770-604-1919. Stated we had 10 days to respond before legal action. Don't have a clue who this is or who she was calling.
Received message on phone yesterday from female voice advising that I had 7 days to respond to 770-604-1919 or face legal action; I did not respond. This morning I received a message from male voice that I have just 24 hours in which to respond to this number or face legal action. He further stated, "I will wait no longer." I have no debts, pay all bills monthly. Obviously a scam operation.
I received a phone message with the same kind of info that Nanny posted about on January 27th. The woman identified herself as Megan and said something about being with a Wage Garnishment Division and that I had 10 days to respond and had been notified, etc. I'm not in any trouble that I'm aware of, but she also said to call her office back at 770-604-1919 which I have no intention of doing since I do not respond to threats or illegal phone calls.
Saying I had 10 days to respond, they said it was noted that they contacted me in regards to some fraud allegations. I figured it was a scam and this just proves it by reading everyone else posts!!
