Sadly, these telescumareketers are all too common here too. I have a device that blocks most calls by using callerID - I check it regularly, it intercepts many calls per day, and so significantly reduces the harrasment, but doesn't prevent it entirely. Still a few get through. it's a cat & mouse game. these crooks spoof numbers, often making it appear like a local number and constantly change numbers or don't send callerid (Unknown Call) which my device let's through. These clowns have ruined the phone system, I cant believe the telcos are letting them do it.
My call from this number this morning said Dir Assist, Ill 779-555-0175 on my caller ID. I did not answer it as I only answer calls from numbers or people I know. Anyone who actually needs to get in touch leaves a message and you can call them back.
