Received a call from Mark Hanson, US Treasury, stating I needed to retain a lawyer and call him back. He threatened to send me to jail. Totally freaked me out.
I received a voicemail from a man stating he was with the Department of Legal Affairs with the US Treasury and that he was calling me about an unfortunate legal action being taken against me. I was suspicious but called back regardless. The same man who left the voicemail on my phone answered on the second ring. If any of you have ever called a government number regardless if it is a "direct line" you should know that there is always a pre recorded government message, I have never called a government number without having to go through so kind of telephone prompting. When He identified himself he was difficult to understand due to his strong Indian accent, I asked him to repeat who he was with, he hung up on me. Also I don't know anyone be it the government or a creditor who would hang up on someone calling about some kind of money owed.
If you contact the US Treasury the first thing they say in the prompts is to beware of scams as the US Treasury does not make unsolicited calls or send emails in regards to important legal matters. If you suspect that you may in fact owe the government money, call them directly, you can find the number on the US Treasury website. I can assure you they would be happy to speak anyone willing to pay a debt that is owed and sometime are able to set up a payment plan.
Be assured they will contact you via mail and again if you are unsure that they have your information give the IRS a direct call and they can assist you.

Feb 3, 2016. Caller, with a foreign accent, said he was with the US Treasury Dept. A claim he been started against us and I was to call back immediately to prevent further action against me. And her I though Obama might call me personally ... don't think that is going to happen. Sounds like a scam to me.
I received a voice mail from Mark who stated that he was with internal affairs and that it was very important to call him back pertaining to a Law Enforcement Action that is against me and that I should have my attorney with me when I call back. I tried to call back and the number is always busy. I was doubtful that this was a legit call so I entered the phone number into google and found all kinds of info on this scam.
