I'm 45 and disabled so I'm sure that's how they got my #. I never answer but I keep getting transcribed voice messages that they're trying to save me money blah blah blah. Same script as everyone else's story. Just FYI: 1. Tell them to put you on THEIR "Internal" Do Not Call Registry 2. Register your number on the National DNC Registry 3. File complaint with FTC (Federal Trade Commission) or Sue 4. Block robo calls with Free a Apps on Cell Phone
They say they are Social Services for Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Georgia. I don't live in George; I don't use Blue Cross/Blue Shield. I get a daily call from them.
Thanks for your detailed info... Tarpit and others on this page!
My spouse almost got scammed... Luckily I was near by and told her to put it on speaker phone... And with out talking I wrote a note to her... Do not confirm any info, let her talk and as soon as she asked her to verify some private personal info... I voiced, politely thanks for all your information, but I would call our insurance first and would get back to you or any other agent available.... bye bye... ;-)
Bottom line... the caller sounded well verse.. and polite... NEVERTHELESS once you give out info that they were supposed to have already... they all your private info could be miss-used, could end in the gutter or be resoled!!! So be aware, if sounds good, think twice or take theirs phones numbers and wait for them to call you back!
Phishing scam. Posing as adjunct Social Services Coordinators for Health Insurance companies. They knew my private info, however, my provider/ medical social worker denied that outside social services were in use.
Also, my medical social worker (for a major company) stated that I should not exchange, verify nor deny whomever. Just wanted to pass this along for others.
Add me to the list. I have received a call everyday for the past two weeks finally I answered, they said the same crap that all previous posters said, asked the same questions. I just hate the thought of this company getting through to an elderly person who may not have the cognition to question this. I contacted my insurance co, Social Security Admin and the Medicare Fraud at 1-800-447-8477 and reported them.
First tip off that it is a scam is the company being and LLC, second was the questions that were asked of me, "Your benefit amount, you subscriber ID, your SS#, etc..."
