File complaint with FTC (Federal Trade Commission) or Sue 4. Block robo calls with Free a Apps on Cell Phone
Oh, My father is 67 and doesn't speak English well, so yesterday when they called , he asked their phone # and they gave him 8663193458 ext # 4083. I didn't call them yet, then they called him again today. This is really annoyed.
I just got a call from this number stating they were calling on behalf of my insurance company and that they needed to clarify some information so that my Part B would not be taken out from my social security. I told them that we had already tried to get Medicaid for this purpose and they told us that we did not qualify. He asked, how long ago did you do this. I told him a couple months ago. Now get this...He said, was that this year? I said, Dah, that would be just a couple months ago, so yes it would be this year. Then he got miffed because he wasn't getting any info from me. I told him, I'm not going to give you any information, goodbye and then I hung up.
Neither Social Security or any insurance company is going to call you to let you not have to pay for something that the government has already made very clear that you do have to pay. Let's all continue to be sharp and not give them anything they can use to snag our hard earned money.
I received a cal today from this number, 786.300.4081. The lady informed me that they might be able to help me with the payment of SS on part D, depending upon my income. She never asked for my SS number! She did ask me for my monthly SS payment amount; I gave her a made up number. She did ask me for and email account; I made up an email address. She did ask me for my DOB; I made up a DOB. She then proceeded to tell me that she could NOT assist me with help on my Medicare, part D, as my income was too high. Then she had me take down a telephone number 800.242.1060 and indicated that this was the number to a government program called SHIP, and that I should call them, as they have local resources that could assist me with transportation to doctors, utilities payments, food, dentist and various other programs...
Yes, this telephone number is out of Florida... whether it is a government agency or not I really don't know... they might just be a shill for NCO...
There is a big scam going on and this is one of them. Please do not response to this number. I work with Social Security and know that they will not call you on a personal note of your insurance. This is only done when you or your love one makes a appointment at the local Social Security Office.
So if you get these kind of calls do not pick up at all. Just report as I am doing now.
