Technical support scam. They targeted my parents before. Told my dad he had to go out and get a Moneygram for $199 to remove viruses from his computer. Um...no. Can't believe nobody has destroyed these [***] yet.
Some guy calling because of previous stays at either a Marriot or Hilton Resort, which I have never done, offering discounted or free vacation packages. Told him I've never stayed at these places & never would because of the unsolicited marketing calls. Then I hung up.
Call went to answering machine. Heard a lot of back ground noise and then they hung up. This number will be blocked. If it's the one who says they are from Microsoft.....HANG UP....IT'S A HUGE SCAM THAT WILL ALLOW THE CALLER TO GET ALL YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION AND DESTROY YOUR COMPUTER.
Received a call today from this number 8014107837 claiming that my computer sent information to them about how my computer is infected with viruses. I asked how she got that information and she said my computer sends it to her automatically. TOTALLY BOGUS. Tried to call the number back and it was not in service. She repeatedly tried to get me to get on my computer to let her show me the problems. Asked if I should report this to the Federal Trade Commission and she hung up.
