I just received a call from someone calling themselves "Real Estate Hardship Service", but was unable to get my question's answered about who they we're working with, or what would be the homeowner's obligation be to them. And I was given an abrupt dial tone when I asked did they have a website for verification.
Got a call from these same guys. 801-846-6565. I couldn't answer it at the time and Googled it before trying to return the call. Are these guys from Provo? And was the card a BofA card? I got hit with a couple POS checks from someone I didn't know and never heard of. the first one cleared and my bank said I must have forgotten what I ordered online. ( I knew I had not ordered anything.) The next month, I got hit with another under $20.00 fee. I compared the POS checks using our banks picture of the check online and noticed that there was a phone number in the "memo" line that was identical. After printing everything I could discover, I marched back to my bank and presented them with this info. I closed one account and opened another, as they could not stop the "automatic" payment. Might I add, the checks were being depositied in BofA in Nevada and Utah? To add insult to injury, I did have an automatic payment scheduled for BofA and managed to close one account and open another on the same day the payment was going through. Add a whopping % rate to my already annoyed self on that one. Be very careful. This whole boondoggle happened because one company I used to have an account with switched from paypal to another ( I keep thinking GreenPay, but I don't think that's it) and that company was bought by unscrupulous sorts who used all of the old account lists to pull this scam. After all, under $20 isn't a felony, but enough under-$20's can make you very rich indeed.
Don't wait. Go after these guys ASAP, unless you are rich enough to eat the financial loss.
Got a call from that 6565 number today on a cell number, and it was a recordubg regarding mortgage law and trying to sell mortgage reduction. Tried to call back, but got same not in service reply... They're still at it despite whatever legal action is being taken. I'm not convinced the case cited has anything to do with these guys. There's another free App called "call filter" that's good for this kind of thing.
