I just received a call from someone calling themselves "Real Estate Hardship Service", but was unable to get my question's answered about who they we're working with, or what would be the homeowner's obligation be to them. And I was given an abrupt dial tone when I asked did they have a website for verification.
HST? What is that? Did you call your credit card & request info. & dispute the charge, I hope?!? You need to report that as theft & fraud. I've reported this number a few times already on the NDNC site, and had the opport. to answer it only once. It is a recorded message re: an opport to take advantage of refinancing troubled mortgages. Even if I wanted to take advantage of such an offer, would NEVER do so by being proactively contacted by a telemarketing firm in this way. Can't help but wonder how successful they are, if at all.
When you call this number back it says it is not in service. That's fair -- they can harrass us, but we cannot contact them?
I hope you can nail them with this unauthorized credit card charge!
