I had same thing happen, but in this case the name he asked for wasn't mine and no one I knew. I hardly ever use my call phone but answered because it had a VT area code the state I live in. I wonder if there is a way to report this to the state? The Do Not Call reg doesn't seem to do anything and this place isn't trying to sell anything (maybe just see if it's a real number?)
This call came on my cell phone (I hardly use or give out) I answered because it has the area code where I live. Man with a very heavy accent asked for someone sounded like Mark Harmon. I said you must have the wrong number, he said this number was listed on his resume. I said I don't know anyone by that name, he kept saying "very sorrreeee" and have a nice day. Sounded Chinese. I looked it up to see if it was a real company calling about someone's resume and found people saying it's a telebarketer. Do they try and get around the Do Not Call registry by saying something like this? He didn't try and sell me anything.
I'm thinking maybe they do this, make out it's wrong number, to see if it's a real number and someone answers...I have a flip phone that auto answers when I open it. It shows caller ID on front but it's tiny and with this I just saw the 802 area code.
This guy, called himself Joshua. I'm ex military, and this guy raised every hair on the back of my neck. First he called my MOTHER to get ahold of me. Don't know about that one. Then he got ahold of me, very thick accent, cross between French and middle eastern. Kept calling me by different names, kept asking me to spell it. I could hear whispering in the background and he said he'd have to call me back, wanted me to schedule a meet n greet. I agreed because I want to see wtf is going on up three. Whatever you do do not give these people any information of any kind. Something really isn't right there.
