I had same thing happen, but in this case the name he asked for wasn't mine and no one I knew. I hardly ever use my call phone but answered because it had a VT area code the state I live in. I wonder if there is a way to report this to the state? The Do Not Call reg doesn't seem to do anything and this place isn't trying to sell anything (maybe just see if it's a real number?)
got a message on my cell phone, very hard to understand. Said his name was Josh _____ with some bank in Williston, and that he'd gotten my name from a resume posted online. It must have been 8 or ten years ago that I last posted a resume. Very odd.
I just got a call on my cell as well. I couldn't hardly understand what he was saying either and same story as above that he got my number from my resume like I had applied at some Bank and Insurance company in Williston. I only answered it because it had the VT area code. I eventually told him I wasn't available and hung up.
I just received this same call. I let it go to voicemail, but they did leave a message. They said they were from Bankers Life & Casualty in Williston and were calling concerning a resume I had posted online.
I posted a resume on Monster.com a month ago and all the calls I have received are from insurance companies (Aflac, Banker's Life, etc.). I pulled my resume, but it must still show somewhere.
I should also have noted that the woman on the other end had such a heavy accent (sounded like she was from India) it was hard to understand her. Nothing against this, but wanted to note that it sounds from all the posts that these calls are coming from out of the country.
I posted a resume on Monster yesterday. Today I received an email from Bankers Life & Casualty and now I just received a call from this number which I didn't answer. They did not leave a message.
