I had them call me today. They were quite polite... When you don't speak English to them. I ALWAYS answer the phone from a number I don't know in Spanish. Hell, my Spanish sucks too, any High School first year Spanish class student is better than me; But that's besides the point here. I always answer the phone with a 'Hola' and say nothing more. Let them do the talking. All you need to know is two more words, 'No' and 'Si'. They figure it out real quick that you don't speak their language(those racist b@stards!) and quickly hang up.
Perhaps not telemarketers, but definately solicitors...look it up; soliciting participation in your survey. Which they do not need to do if they do not want to. Get the point, loser...people do not want to hear from these 3rd party market research people. And, you can, unfortunately, thank to a certain exztent, scammers who have ruined that line of work, too. Because people posing as survery takers have either used the contact into to solicit sales of goods and services (because it's not actually a survey, it's a fishing expedition) or used the info to scam people.
So, sorry Mr/Ms Sparrow...whenever you come uninvited into people's homes, including via telephone, you should EXPECT to be treated with suspicion and shown the exit. Don't whine about it, and don't come on these types of sites and try to justify unwanted intrusion into people's time.
Gee, that's too bad for them. Seriously, if you people have time to get on the internet to a website like this to try to justify your intrusion into people's homes (via phone) then you probably have time to find another job that does't involve bothering people who don't want to talk to you.
Please understand that people have no obligation to talk to you. And take your hurt feelings to a website for whiners who want to justify what they do and complain that the mean ol' public just doen't understand. Wah, wah, wah.....
Take your market research and please put it wherever you want that DOES NOT BOTHER ME!!!
Just FYI, we live in a free country, where we DO NOT have to respond to your "survey"/questions. It's sort of like "pleading the 5th" in a court of law...I am referring to the "5th "Amendment" in our U.S. Constitution. (BTW, I am using this example as a 'METAPHOR' to hopefully help you understand that we, free citizens of the United States of America, have the RIGHT to deny your 'surverys' and cannot-SHOULD NOT in this case- be forced, persuaded, and frankly, berated by unsolicited phone calls. The point is, once someone has said NO/please stop calling/take me off of your list, etc, just like in court...by law... we should not have to REPEATEDLY deny participation...no matter WHO the company is that has hired Stone Research to represent them. If someone has made it clear that he/she is NOT INTERESTED (stop calling, take me off your list....etc.) then Stone Research should not only respect the constitution, A.K.A. the LAW, but Stone Research should at least respect people,in general, and STOP CALLING period. Just like with the 5th Amendment in court, once someone has denied responding to questions or even as far as not being tried for the same offense twice- the law protects them in terms of givingt them the right to say NO TO ANSWERING QUESTIONS and/or not having to deal with a situation a second time (referring to not being tried for the SAME CRIME)...metaphorically referring to saying NO again and again to answering different survey questions! When someone says NO, that means NO to any and all "surveys".
I hope you understand what I have attempted to explain! I respect YOUR right to work for whomever you choose, so please respect OUR RIGHT to say NO....and that means NO THIS TIME & NO IN THE FUTURE! (Like my gramma used to say, "NO means NO, meaning NO--so DON'T ASK ME AGAIN for a cookie before dinner.....lol....no matter WHAT we were having for dinner from one Sunday to the next...different day, different meal.... but the answer was STILL gonna be NO if we asked for a cookie before dinner!)
BTW-the definition of a METAPHOR-a figure of speech in which a term or phrase is applied to something to which it is not literally applicable in order to suggest a resemblance}
