Just keep hanging up on them or blow a whistle in the phone when they call. If they are calling your work tell whoever answers the phone to tell them that you no longer work there, they will quit calling after awhile
I know this is a scam. Please stop calling my phone number and my personal contacts' numbers or I will press charges of harrassment through my attorney. Take my name off of your calling list.
When I got to work on Tuesday, I had a message waiting for me. It said to call Allan Reed about some money that I had misappropriated. I then received 5 more calls at work and 3 calls on my cell phone. I finally returned their call and told them if they didn't leave me alone, that I would sue them.
Called my husband at all offices associated with his workplace. Threatened the secretary and left us several messages. Said we owed a payday loan from 12/09 (never got one) for $300 but with fees we now owed over $800. Told him I had reported him and he started to yell telling me "do not threaten me!". Very scarey and sounds legit at first b/c they have so much identifying info. But, IT IS A SCAM!!!!!
Got a call today from this number with the same charastics that others have posted involving an unpaid pay day loan, my arrest was immediate and that a charge was being placed against my social security number. When I asked who I supposedly owed money to they said Advance Cash Centers. I asked for the phone number and was given 516-490-8151. I called the number and said that I was calling to see why I supposedly owed them money and he immediately asked what number was I called from. I said I do not have a number just a name and he hung up. Both people had a foreign accent and there was a lot of noise in the background.
