Complete scam. They made the mistake of calling an actual attorney. Every jurisdiction requires proper service. A message is not proper service and not returning their call does not equate to a waiver of counsel or failure to file an appearance. Call them back. Tell them your name is Toby and that you work in the kitchen. Call late at night or early in the morning.
Call immediately. Have legal matter need take care of or will send to court. Tried to call but number not set up to take calls
Called before and when I asked why they called hung up on me
Same company is calling me but her name was Alexandria Jennings of Jennings, Roberts & Associates and the number they want me to call is 817-440-7944. I told them I had no idea why they were calling. When she said something about a pay day loan and I said I had never had a pay day loan before and that someone stole my identity I was disconnected. I called back and was connected with a Sharron Wilson who yelled at me, called me a liar, said she would be sueing me. I was disconnected again so still being confused I called back and it just hangs up on me now. Crazy its not funny to mess with peoples lives
It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and that they have the legal right to collect it. You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

Received call from a Missy Roberts with James Roberts and Associates. Said there was a pending case against me and that if I or my attorney did not return call today (said same the last 3 days), they would be turning it over to the courts.
