This number continued to call the new cell number that I just got. Down loaded a program to block all numbers that are spam or garbage. Works great and it is free.
I recieved a call from this company.I have 3 accounts with a cell phone company.I was given a fair settlement and the agent was nice.I read this board and see all of teh posts are from people who dont care to pay or are angry people.
Called my house this afternoon. Left a message to call the Engle Law Firm, without mentioning WHO should call. I don't owe anybody anything. I rent, don't own a car,don't have credit cards, and use a pre-paid cell phone.Haven't gotten anything in the mail from them. Sounds like they are trolling for suckers now. And Sam, sounds like you work for them.....didn't you read the part where it says they buy UNCOLLECTABLE, OLD debts?????
Got a call on my cell phone, which is a number that is unlisted and which I've only had a few months ..
Whoever left the message apparently had a mouthful of food from all the slurping going on and also did not leave a complete message..
The message stated :
...nthony. I need you to call the law office of W. Thomas Engle, at 866-611-6300 ext 236 in regards to a case on file at our law office.
Now, no possible variation of my name has 'nthony' in it. I'm assuming either the woman's last name is Anthony or she's trying to find someone by that name.. can't tell since its mid-word when the voice message starts and she stops to swallow whatever it is she was slurping on as she was starting to speak..
Naturally, when I tried to call the number given all that I got was a voice recording telling me to call back later.
I'm going to call Monday and find out what this is.. will report back here (if I remember) what the slurper has to say..
Okay.. So I did call them back this morning and .. when I called the number given by the slurper TODAY the recording system informed me that I had called Federal Credit Corporation. (Keep in mind that Saturday the message said I'd called the law office of W.Thomas Engle)
Tried the extension, got a recording informing me that "Michelle" was not currently in the office so I could leave a message or press 1 to return to the operator.
I opted not to leave Michelle the Slurping Wonder Woman a message (was the same voice on the voice mail and on the answering machine when I dialed her extension) and when I finally got a person on the phone, a man answered and said "Law Office"
*shakes head
So.. come to find out they were trying to find someone by the name of Anthony Jackson. Well.. I'm not Anthony Jackson and I don't know this person either so .. along with the verbal statement of "Take my cell number out of your system and don't call me again" I've also written a cease and desist letter which states the same thing and sent that to them certified mail this afternoon.
I have no desire to start getting repeat phone calls from bottom-feeders and slurping wonder-girls..
