Same thing - three calls. Boy am I scared! IRS does not call anyone. These scammers will meet their match one day when they are in the middle of their recordings and turn around and find themselves being arrested.
Hi this is Officer Bryan (Brian) Snyder from the IRS department. The reason for this call is to inform you that the IRS has issued an arrest warrant against you and your physical address in under federal investigation, so call me back to get the detailed information about your case.- leaves a call back number and states it's very important we hear from you today.
Received a phone call from this phone number advising me that a warrant had been issued for my arrest because I had ignored notices sent to me advising me that I owe over $1,700 in taxes. I listened to him and advised him that I was going to call the local IRS office to check on this information. He told me not to bother since this matter had been taken out of the hands of the IRS. This information did not sound right to me plus I knew that I didn't owe the IRS any money. Needless to say, I soon was able to verify that this call was a scam and I called the guy back and told him I wanted something in writing before any money would be forwarded to him. He immediately hung up the telephone.
I received a voicemail from this number saying they were calling from the IRS and that there was a warrant out for my arrest, a lien on my property, and that I must call them today ! So I did. An Officer Jeo /John (something with J and heavy accent) informed again that there was a warrant for my arrest. He informed me the call was being recorded and said I could not speak or interrupt him as he told me of my crimes. He said that I had been under surveillance for illegal activity at my property... that my last 5 years of tax returns were under investigation because they have determined that I intentionally tried to defraud the U.S. government. He said that Homeland Security was on their way to get me for violating 3 major U.S. laws (which he stated). He said that they would come to my door today and handcuff me ... that I would not receive bail and that I would be in jail for 3 years ... unless I wanted to resolve it all today.
... I also said I was going to call the IRS to further investigate these allegations and got the same response as above. I then told him I had googled his # while he was talking and told him it was a scam. That's when he hung up. They should be arrested !!!!
Just like the rest of you I received several calls and voicemails from them today. Same story IRS, have to call them today... Called them back to tell them to stop calling me and they actually said they did not want me they wanted my husband, and named him by name, then asked if he was available. Told him that this wasn't his phone and they seriously asked me to give them his phone number! Read a story today from New York that agency's are reporting how serious this is right now, especially over the past few days. If this 818 number is attached to someone's home, I believe in California, why can't our Government track them down and arrest them?
