I, too, get the same phone calls over and over. Man with accent from India and says he is Microsoft
geek service and has detected a virus on my computer. Wants me to let him log on to my computer.
I told him to [***] off and remove my number from their illegal database.
JUST RECEIVED A CALL FROM 8602654984. THEY WANTED TO TALK TO ME ABOUT MY INTERNET SERVICE. TOLD THEM I DID NOT HAVE A COMPUTER, AND HE KEPT TALKING. FINALLY GOT RIDE OF HIM. GUESS IT WAS A SCAM!!! I COULD NOT UNDERSTAND HIM--HE WAS A FOREIGNER THAT DID NOT LISTEN AND KEPT TALKING
The only persons who should be touching your computer is you, your manufacturer, Real Windows support that you have called and/or maybe a real live tech you see face to face!
Definitely a computer hack attempt. Said they had detected issues with my computer, and wanted me to go to the computer and give them control. What a bunch of friggin' idiots. Definitely a strong foreign accent. Claimed to be in Connecticut, which may not be truthful either. The displayed phone number was probably a hoax in itself.
This outfit has called using several different numbers. Last number they used was hacked from a University in Maryland!
Same thing every time. A guy with a foreign accent first asking for my father who has been deceased for six years and never owned a computer, then trying to tell me there is a Microsoft issue with my computer. Definitely a scam. Wish someone could shut them down permanently.
