I answered it, then no one would answer on their end, although I could hear my ring tone being played at their end.
I have been on the Federal Do Not Call Registry for a long time, and recently renewed it. This happens almost every single day from some company. I am getting tired of these.
just got a call from this number today a recording about lowering interest rates . pushed option 9 anxious to tell them where to go. no one came on line call ended. This is third day of getting scam calls from different numbers. what good is do not call list? if they got a restrain order on the 11-19 it did not work. today is 11-26-2010. What good is complaint to government? current administration sucks!
This must be some of that top down bottom up inside out that Glenn Beck was warning us about. that means thugs from the top are turning their heads from the activity of the thugs from the bottom to steal and rob the law abiding American citizens of their wealth and security. wake up America!
Glad you canceled your card. In the future for your own protection do not ever give out your card number or SS number to anyone over phone. apparently scammers are out there in overdrive right now during this holiday season. Just recently I have had unauthorized charges made to my card also do not know how that happened as I have not gave out info over phone. still investigating this myself. I have learned though there are people going around with some type of skimmer device that can read you card numbers through your wallet or purse. can place tin foil in front of card to stop this. don't know for sure if this will work bank associate said it would. It is a shame that we live in a world with so many thieves but we do and the bottom line is we are going to have to protect ourselves and let others know also of these current advancements that thieves are able to use to access our accounts. Honest telemarketers use the DoNotCall Registry, abusive telemarketers and scammers do not, regardless of who's in the White House or which party controls Congress. Politics has *NOTHING* to do with criminals scamming money from ordinary people. Big business wants to telemarket us to death and with Republican help, made the default as opt-out instead of opt-in which means companies can telemarket you by default until you tell them to stop ("the free market"), and many won't stop even if you tell them, and made it extremely difficult to even get the DoNotCall Registry established ("jobs will be lost"). If you hate being called relentlessly, blame big business and the Republicans. Not that it is, but if the Gov is somehow using telemarketing to steal wealth and security from American citizens as you allege, they're doing it using the anti-consumer telemarketing rules we presently have that were lobbied by big business and helped by the Republicans. Sure there were some Democrats who helped themselves to the lobby money as well. Big business owns the Gov so don't blame the Gov, blame big business for the bribes they give to politicians, Democrat and Republican. It's simply mind-boggling how you translated a scammer phone call into the Gov stealing and robbing from American citizens!
Just got a call today so the restraining order doesn't seem to matter to them. I'm adding them to my blocked list, but I'm sure they'll use another number again. I hate those jerks!
