The thing about that is....your account is no longer with sears. Just because you stopped using the card doesn't mean their is a 0 balance. All accounts in our office are interest bearing. They are gaining interest daily. Sears placed your account in our office to collect their money. Obviously they were unsuccessful. Usually they will redirect your call to us. We are the middle men. Working with us usually ends up cheaper. We are able to offer settlements. Sears will demand balance in full. If the money is owed, obviously it needs to be taken care of. Its yalls credit...not ours!
No, stupid, despite your rant there is more than one solution besides "....PAY IT!" It's called chapter 7 bankruptcy. I get it's your job and I get I owe money. You obviously don't care about circumstances, all you care about is a paycheck, which I also understand.
So, stupid and ingnorant, uncaring and devoid of human compassion that you are, you have just affirmed the stereotype of a debt collector. Thank you for living down to our expectations of you. Jerk.
Many options out there and if you have filed a Chapter 7 or 13 just tell them so and all thay need is the lawyers name and phone number to verify you actually filed. The calls from that particular collector will by law stop calling.
I realize that e761 has to make a living; so do a lot of us. But ranting and raving and swearing in your response only serves to justify the general public's view of debt collectors. I worked with a friend to get this company to stop harassing her.
They left a message the message was for someone other then myself instructing me to push 1 (one) if I was not this person.
How was I to push 1 when it was a message on my voice mail?
I called them and told them to never call me again and I was going to report them.
