Same story. wanted an item off craigslist and requested my full name and address and then wanted to send a cashier's check with 50 extra. I don't give my person address out to people, that is just sketchy to begin with. Left a bad feeling in my stomach from the start of the texts. told him/her that he needed to stop trying to scam people and get a real job. Don't fall for it people.
This same guy, Benson, called me about something I have on Craigslist. This was my first time putting something on Craigslist. Something about the guy seemed a little suspicious. When I told a friend of mine, she Googled his phone number and saw your posts. THANK YOU for posting these comments or I may have ended up being scammed. Btw, he also offered me $50 extra to remove it from Craigslist......and I did text him my name and an address (but not my home address). I am still trying to understand how this scam works. Can anyone explain it to me? Thanks again, everyone.
Seems suspicious to me too! Didn't ask one question about the item he wanted to purchase w/ certified check. I forgot to put the year in the ad. Checks certified or not, they are likely forged or stolen. In any event jerk didn't get my info. Think I'll send him name of detective and police address. LOL. Beware if response sounds like from a foreigner. English not quite right
