Same story. wanted an item off craigslist and requested my full name and address and then wanted to send a cashier's check with 50 extra. I don't give my person address out to people, that is just sketchy to begin with. Left a bad feeling in my stomach from the start of the texts. told him/her that he needed to stop trying to scam people and get a real job. Don't fall for it people.
I just received a message from 8053640271 that he will buy my stuff on craiglist and he will extra 50$ to take it off the list, asked me if I will accept check, I think it is a scam, he didn't even ask a question about the product which i listed for almost 1000$ , can someone verify please, it seems like CA number

It would be better if you put in your ad "Local Only, cash and carry". Hard to believe, but it can take up to 6 weeks for a check to bounce, even in todays electronic age. You can limit your liability by taking a bank draft, which is a good as cash. Tell the buyer "cash, or bank draft" & see if you hear from them again. I'm betting high that it's a scam, so even money on "No".
