Same story. wanted an item off craigslist and requested my full name and address and then wanted to send a cashier's check with 50 extra. I don't give my person address out to people, that is just sketchy to begin with. Left a bad feeling in my stomach from the start of the texts. told him/her that he needed to stop trying to scam people and get a real job. Don't fall for it people.
I also got a text from this number wanting to buy an item I had for sale on craigslist...gave them my name and address to mail me a certified check...guess I will see what happens...they wanted me to remove the post immediately and I told them I would remove it as soon as the money cleared the bank...I do know from past experience that there is counterfeit cashier checks and moneyorders...anyone who offers freely to pay more than what you have an item for sale for definately raises red flags! There are exceptions, but this whole message just seemed to strike me as odd!
I got the same type of deal from this beson he sent me stolen check for + $900.00 and wanted it wired back and all the numbers at the bottom of the check were swapped he's quick but not quick enough
I just received a text from this number as well. Seeing that it wasn't a local area code but South Carolina I looked it up and found this post. A few weeks ago I received a similar text from 631-593-1548. Do not trust these people or send them anything. Just let them know your items are cash only at time of pickup and let them know they appear to be scammers. That seems to stop any further communication attempts to me.
after the same runaround I told the guy he needed to improve his english and that i thought he was from Nigeria. Funny thing I didn't get another text from this person.
