Same story. wanted an item off craigslist and requested my full name and address and then wanted to send a cashier's check with 50 extra. I don't give my person address out to people, that is just sketchy to begin with. Left a bad feeling in my stomach from the start of the texts. told him/her that he needed to stop trying to scam people and get a real job. Don't fall for it people.
10 minutes ago the same guy, text me about something I have on Craigslist. This was my first time putting something on Craigslist. the guy seemed a little suspicious. When I Googled his phone number and saw your posts. THANK YOU for posting these comments or I may have ended up being scammed. he also offered me $50 extra to remove it from Craigslist...... Thanks again, everyone.
My husband and I got a text message early Easter morning from "Larry" at the given number. Wanted to know of we still had the item for sale. Text back that we do. Same offer for our posted Craigslist item with a $50 extra payment for taking it offline to consider it sold. He said he wanted full name and address to make payment by certified check, then make arrangements to pick up the item. My gut told me I needed to research it before giving any information, so we googled his number. THANK YOU !! We are grateful for the technologies of today , but even more so for the people who have honor and respect, and that do the best they can to look out for others as well.
Feels like another win against these loser scammer types.
Hope everyone has an wonderfully fun 2013!!!
