These people call four or five times a day. Local news did a fraud report on them, said they have hit all fifty states. Rip off scammers, spent 189 million on their vacation, New cars etc.
This number has called my house 4 times a day for the past four days and my husband answered. He told them that he knew I already told them not to call back...she said she would call back later and hung up. This is disturbing...even if it WAS a legitimate charity, I would not want to give someone who calls that many times a day anything.

I got a call from them at 8:30 this morning (a little early for solicitations, no?). I knew better than to listen to them, so I picked up and hit the * button over and over for about 30 seconds, then hung up, hopefully fooling the person on the other end into thinking it's a bad number or something of the sort. If I let voicemail pick up, they know for sure it's a good number, so what I did is better than nothing. This is hardly the first time they've called. I'm guessing they used a SC phone number in hopes that I would pick up since I am in SC.
Charities are not bound by the DNC list.
This is a "legitimate" charity in the sense that it's legally formed, but its track record is horrendous. Children's Cancer Fund of America gives the large majority of its donations right back to the telemarketing company that called you.
