Very odd call. Woman said she was from Fedex. She asked a few very general questions. Did we use Fedex ground, are we happy, is there anything she could do for us. She praised fedex ground saying they are the fastest ground delivery. The call had a "hollow" sound to it.

This number is actually from FedEx location in Collierville, right outside of Memphis. This is a main number that shows up on the caller ID. I work for fedex in dallas, and this number shows up whenever someone from the corporate office calls. It could be anyone in the entire campus calling, and it will show up with this number. It's not a scam.
After reading the posts here I am surprised that this has been an ongoing issue with FedEx for over 3 years. In less than 2 hours time, I've received 14 calls and 12 voicemail messages (I actually picked up for 2 of them) all with the beep. Some of the voicemail recordings are short - less than 15 seconds and others are up to 4 minutes in length. I keep deleting the voicemail messages, but have all the "missed calls" in my records.
I called FedEx at 12:54 p.m. and a rep in the Customer Advocate area said he would be looking into this and getting back to me. Hopefully this gets resolved. I'll post again later if this FedEx rep is successful in resolving this issue. Since I called FedEx at 12:54, I've received 3 more calls from the number. It is now 1:24 p.m.
It is now 3:30 p.m. and the calls stopped shortly after my phone call to FedEx. The last phone call I received was at 1:06. The FedEx rep was very efficient at stopping the calls and very helpful. He called me back at 1:55 to check to see if the calls had stopped and again at 3:15 (at my request) to make sure the calls were no longer coming.
If this happens to you, the best advice I have is to call FedEx at 1-800-463-3339 and say "representative." Once this happens, ask for a customer advocate representative in Kansas City, because that is eventually where you will be transferred if the original representative can figure out what to do with your complaint. Make sure you have the number handy that you are getting the call from and the Customer Advocate will be able to place an end to the calls.
Good luck to all others who receive these "beeping" calls :)
I started receiving calls at 1:30pm and they didn't stop until about 4:30 pm. In all I received about 85 phone calls within that timespan. When I chose to answer some of the calls, all I got was the beeping that other people mentioned. Obviously fed up, I called Sprint (my service provider) in hopes of having the number blocked. They said they couldn't help me and suggested that I speak to the police in regards to the phone calls. I'm glad I'm not the only one, but I certainly hope this doesn't happen again!
