I just received a phone call from a female automated caller saying the irs is suing me and that I need to call this phone number (903) 326-9521. I know that this is a scam and I will not fall for it, but I do worry about senior citizens falling prey to these scams!!
Had a voice message from this number stating it was about a case file and to call back immediately. When I called back I was connected to a person whose first language is not English. He stated his name was IRS Agent Robin Thompson. I asked to be transferred to a supervisor. I was transferred and the "supervisor" identified himself as Mr. [***] Dick. He went on to say he wanted to take me to the candy shop and have a date.
Phone log shows a call at 1:08pm today, caller ID says 'out of area.' Googled Area Code 903, shows Northeartern Texas. Don't know anybody there so added to the blocked numbers list. Great little devices those call blockers...
Just like the rest: Recorded message from IRS today on our landline (we don't have caller ID), stating lawsuit filed & to call immediately to pay what we owe.
We know exactly where we stand with the IRS, did NOT respond.
Reported the phone number to the FTC & the Treasury Inspector General and are double checking our registration(s) with the National Do Not Call list.
Hey, guess what. The IRS is filing a lawsuit against me, too!! I did not call the number immediately for more information as I was instructed to. Call came from Rice, Texas.
