True enough. But it's nothing to do with any debt collector. In the case you mention, the local public prosecutor can take action if her or she wants to, but such cases are rarely prosecuted. And it would be up to the lender to make the compliant TO THE POLICE, who would make a report and turn it into THE PROSECUTOR! Not some scummy debt collector. Debt collectors have no influence on the criminal justice system and prosecutors don't tell debt collectors what their plans are. Debt collectors have no powers of arrest. And you can't be arrested for ordinary civil debt.
Notice how they use the term "Chief" Hollingsowrrth, as if he or she was vaguely connected with law enforcement in some way. Chrissakes, no end to the clap-trap these scummy debt collectors will go to.
Garden variety debt scammers. I've been trying to find them for some time. I think they are just a group of white collar thugs working out of either someone's house or a back room of a rented commercial building. I'm thinking Georgia. This Mr Franklin seems to have Georgia accent, deep, rural. The robo greeter has a harsh, annoyed tone to her voice which I've heard on other calls. Same voice every time.
