I did a little digging and found their website. *Seems* legit (emphasis on seems), but I don't think they explain who they are very well on the phone or in person.
Have been getting calls from this number since Friday, 10/5/12. Same as all other complaints here... 2 calls, then it hangs up, and no voicemail. I never answer calls that are blocked or unknown, so who knows who this could be. I'm apparently not the only one, however.
I just read your messages after I posted mine... thanks for doing this! At least I know from where it's coming. I wonder if I call those companies and ask them to take me off of their list? Maybe it would work, one never knows!
But I do appreciate it when people such as yourself take the time to post your actions! :)
Same as the others...getting calls almost daily since 10/6/2012. They will eventually give up. Until then, when I see the number popping up, I'm not answering.
I just got off the phone with JCP&L/FirstEnergy Corp. and they told me that it's actually not coming from them, meaning they are not actively providing anyone with our personal information. It's similar to ads that you would see on a website, or getting personalized coupons from your local grocery store. Companies can obtain this info and create a monster list of people such as ourselves and robocall. Yes, even with cell phones and despite the DoNotCall.gov list.
I guess we have to get used to it, people! It's the day and age we live in. Just don't answer. I believe, and I'm not exactly certain about this, but after so many tries, your number may get dropped from "their" robo-list. Let's all hope so!
