Call from "windows" which I have had numerous times. They want to gain control of your computer to fix a serious problem. Dangerous for people who might not understand what they are doing!
My husband works in IT and he has too many conversations with this number. They argue with him all the time and of course by the end of the call they tell him to f off. It is so annoying and it is nothing for them to start calling before 8 am. They will call and ask for me and once I find out who it is I hand the phone off to my husband. They also call my Mom's and she only has an I pad and once she tells them that they call her a rich Bi#$%. She gets kind of upset. They called here at 3:48 and just called again at 4:01. This guys name was Gary and he asked me if I was the main user of this computer and I told him all I have is an I Pad and he hung up. How am I supposed to know if it is actually a support company or a scam?
They called saying they are from "windows" and that my computer is showing an "error" and they would like to help me fix it. I asked them to tell me the IP address of the computer showing the error as i have multiple computers and they are unable to answer. I ask them to verify the version of windows that i use and they answered wrong, at which point they hang up. This is a scam pure and simple, and God help them if I should ever find out who they are.
