Steppingstone is a company that peddles "family-friendly" (religious) movies. The owner, Brian, is very talkative and generally polite, but if you don't personally ask him to stop calling you, he'll continue at all hours of the day (from spoofed phone numbers all over the U.S.), until you're driven to insanity. What he SHOULD be doing is marketing his products through churches, where he'd have s more receptive audience, instead of giving himself a terrible reputation as a merciless telemarketer. In a way, I feel sorry for him. Telephone sales (especially cold-calling) is a horrible, depressing way to make a living. In a nutshell, Steppingstone is annoying as hell, but harmless; not a criminal enterprise, as some here have stated.
We also have received numerous phone call from this number. The few times I answered, it was "Brian" wanting to do follow-up on a survey my husband had done with them. Yes folks my dumb___ husband actually spoke to these people.
At first the calls came during my lunch hour at home. Then at dinner time. Now everyday at 8:00 am. HMy husband, fortunately gave only his name. But I am sure that it is enough to cause some sort of trouble. Beware, answer no questions, never return the call and delete the info from your phone. Family Friendly Movie Company they are not.
Hmmm. We are not AARP, but, perhaps, they get certain numbers from a Medicare Directory (probably from someone who has access). The "sell" is the production of "family movies that you can watch with your grandchildren." Really! My usually smart husband listened to their pitch--but, didn't give money. They continue to call. Don't these guys know that our generation really isn't all that dense! Hey, my idea of a family movie is: American Sniper! It's about honor. Why don't Stepping Stones go to their "friends" and "family" for help with their "projects" or . . . hey, join the military or get a job, Dude! But, then, that would be honest work, right?
Again same thing....Brian called and asked for my husband by name. Caller id said stepping stones. He wouldnt leave a mesaage. I looked up the number and saw all of this info. Its a day for telemarketers and scams evidently. Second one in 15 minutes!
This is one for the books!! Do the telemarketers have the technology now to answer your phone when you refuse to? I saw that it was a telemarketer so I sat down across the room and just let it ring. And ring it did!! They don't give up. It must have rung a dozen times. And then all of a sudden I heard a click and the 'Line is in use' button lit up and a man's voice said, "Hello" several times over the speaker. No one else was home at the time!! This is the second time my phone has 'answered itself' when a telemarketer has called! What goes on here???
