Talked to Verizon - they say they don't call from any number like that. Hang up and call Verizon directly if you get this call.
I'm not the principle account holder on a family plan and they were calling me...someone has a swatch of Verizon account information and they'll farming it for people who are willing to give their credit card in order to "prevent their account from being disconnected". While they have names and numbers, they do not have accurate billing information.
Never give payment information to someone that calls you. Call them, at a number that you know to be reliable.
I got a recorded call from this number claiming to be Verizon, but it had the wrong name. It wanted me to call back at 877-216-6905. I hung up and called Verizon directly (#768). Once I got to a human, a very polite service rep. checked our account (my phone is not the primary number) and said there was no unusual activity, weren't past due, and that wrong name from the recording was not associated with my account. He called both the 910 and 877 numbers for me and confirmed that they are connected to a Verizon collections outfit in NC. He could not tell me why they called my phone with the wrong name.
I've been getting calls all week from 910-338-0671 and they do not leave messages. Well I just got the call again 5 min. ago, I answered and it was a Brittish sounding woman saying she is from Verizon, looking for a payment. I know I am not overdue! Haven't even recieved a bill yet!! I'm glad I googled the number and recieved this information! It will be a cold day in heck b4 they get my credit card number!
