I just got the same message from this number & they knew my name i called my cell phone carrier & had them block the number because the message said they were my cell phone carrier & when i called them they said they didnt call
This number is Verizon Wireless billing. If you receive a call from this number & call it back from your VZW cell phone, you will receive an automated message. If you hold on for a moment, the system will verify your cell number & ask for you to confirm your name. Once confirmed, you will receive your persaonl message from VZW (generally that you're bill is overdue).
Another way to get this message is by dialing *611
I just got a call several minutes ago. Called my cell phone first. Left no message. Then called my house phone and left an automated message saying "if you are XXX, press 1, if you are not XXX press 2". The caller ID said its from Jacksonville, NC?
I copied this from another post cause I had same exact thing happen ! Its real creepy in sense that there are only 2 people that I know very well that know my home phone and will call my home phone only if emergency and can not get my cell...I have no idea how anyone could ever connect me to both numbers ...why someone would call my cell then call my home ...there is no way they would know my cell if i didnt tell them never mind call my home especially my home phone is not in my name...ONLY way anyone could connect the 2 is either someone from Verizon gave them my info or Verizon did actually make the call
I have a good question... Why don't we all just wait one month till we all get our "PAPER" Verizon bill we all get, to simply see if, in fact, this is a scam/mistake. If there is no Balance due other than what is normally owed, then obviously the call is erroneous!!! There should be no reason why you can't just pay your bill online or by mail. Who CARES about the phone call!!! There are other "official" methods to verify for each individual case what's TRUE. So, my advice is to just be PATIENT, see what's on your bill and if there's nothing unusual, call Verizon DIRECTLY and speak to them about it. End of Dramatic Story.
