I just got the same message from this number & they knew my name i called my cell phone carrier & had them block the number because the message said they were my cell phone carrier & when i called them they said they didnt call
BTW they have this amazing invention called Call Interceptor... Look into it if you're particularly paranoid about you phone number being called by random people. Unfortunately, our names & subsequent phones number's are lately one of the easier commodities for scamming/cold calling/collections/pyramid schemes and probably even televangelists to come up with. Phone numbers are not that private anymore. So, you'll have to take extra steps to deal with it, much like your email address. And we all know how seldom we all get spam mail. BTW, ever notice how those pop up's on the side of your browser always seem to know where all the "singles" in your area are??? Face it, you're not safe from it, so just be smart and take it to the "official" stores, phone numbers and etc. Simple logic.
Brian and others, this is not Verizon. I do have Verizon, it is a company provided cell phone & blackberry. I confirmed that the bill payment has absolutely no issues. I had Verizon check this number in their system. They indicated that it is NOT a Verizon number. They suggested that I go on line (where I manage my Verizon account) and block this number. The employee I spoke to indicated that it appeared that this may be a scammer of some sort. Please do not recommend to people that they respond to these calls. They should not. And be careful not to comment on things unless you have done your homework and have your facts together. Thank you.
You must work for these scam artists....i have a long list of numbers that you and others use. Verizon will only mail or text you untill your phone is shut off for not paying your bill. Then send you to a 3rd party for collections, who will not say they are Verizon or be some recording pretending to be Verizon. God will judge you.
Thanks for the postings. It is from Verizon Wireless. I just paid my bill an hour ago so I'm guessing the payment hasn't officially posted since it's a weekend. Either way, I'm sure they're just making their rounds on past-due accounts.
