I received the Bueno Neighbors card too. My card had 2 different phone numbers for NM also telling me to ask for Barbara; Albq 505-881-4998 and Santa Fe 1-800-574-3599. They also claimed to have a "parcel" for me (parcel # NB 0704-73). Me, being a new homeowner, I had received multiple gift cards from Lowe's and Home Depot, so I called (like an idiot). I just moved in so I didn’t have the internet yet and I should have waited and checked first but…. They claimed to have been in business for 21 years (which is very fishy compared to the previous statement of 81 years) and worked with the local banks to provide their service free of charge. They wanted my name, how many people lived in my home, and my schedule (when I would and wouldn’t be home) wanting to do a water treatment. They were willing to come out between 7:30 and 8:00pm. After thinking it over, I immediately called and cancelled my appointment. I had to call 3 times before someone would answer the phone. I have already called the Detective Dept. about this and made it known to anyone I know buying a home. I have no proof one way or another that this is a scam but something is definitely not right!
They just sent me a card also. Thanks for the warnings! We just bought a house just outside Raleigh, NC. Looks like they've moved their operation here.
I got one of these "Bueno Neighbors" in New Mexico. Getting past the nice stationary and fancy font, Google brought me here doing a name search. Like others have experienced, the card indicates the sender is trying to contact you and has been unable to reach you by phone; but that they have a "parcel" for you and goes on to list business hours, contact (Barbara), and lists a local phone number for Albuquerque 505-881-4998 and toll-free for Santa Fe 800-574-3599. From all indications, this appears to be a scam in that your "parcel number" is probably a reference to your name and address, which then could possibly be used to send someone to your door or use the address for other marketing purposes. E-mail scammers regularly include "opt-out" options on their messages so they can determine which addresses are valid, figuring quite simply that if you respond by opting out... the address has a body behind it. If you receive one of these, respond at your own peril.
P.S. This is the first search hit where someone has actually gotten to talk to anybody or gotten a site visit. Like already stated, this appears to be geared towards recent home sales. If you get one of these cards, turn it in to your Attorney General, BBB, local Police, or the FTC.
We just moved to Apex, NC and got the same thing - they're everywhere!
When I called the number it said it was disconnected so I looked it up - certainly won't be calling again!
I just started recieving phone calls from some lady from #(910) 423-0969 She keeps asking to speek to my girlfriend and I can't find anything on web either. I am glad other people have wrote messages ther wise I might have talked to them.
Okay...so my husband scheduled a home visit for a free water test. Obviously, it showed that our water was hard as hell and full of chlorine at an unsafe level. The answer: EcoWater purification SYSTEM which can be purchased retail on line or in store for $7995 plus $800 installation and other fees. BUT, if you let the salesman install it sooner, you get $500 off, no installation plus a bunch of free cleaning products that are safe to the earth. We said NO. Beware of the sales pitches. Bottom line, its a $7-$8000 unit.
