I received the Bueno Neighbors card too. My card had 2 different phone numbers for NM also telling me to ask for Barbara; Albq 505-881-4998 and Santa Fe 1-800-574-3599. They also claimed to have a "parcel" for me (parcel # NB 0704-73). Me, being a new homeowner, I had received multiple gift cards from Lowe's and Home Depot, so I called (like an idiot). I just moved in so I didn’t have the internet yet and I should have waited and checked first but…. They claimed to have been in business for 21 years (which is very fishy compared to the previous statement of 81 years) and worked with the local banks to provide their service free of charge. They wanted my name, how many people lived in my home, and my schedule (when I would and wouldn’t be home) wanting to do a water treatment. They were willing to come out between 7:30 and 8:00pm. After thinking it over, I immediately called and cancelled my appointment. I had to call 3 times before someone would answer the phone. I have already called the Detective Dept. about this and made it known to anyone I know buying a home. I have no proof one way or another that this is a scam but something is definitely not right!
Actually, it's a place called EcoWater. Look them up online at ecowater.com. They really do give you a certificate and they want to give you a water text.
It's a telemarketer. They come out and test your water for free, that part isn't a scam, and they aren't trying to steal anything. They try to interest you in buying a water filter for over 10 grand. All you have to say is your rent your home and they won't call anymore. I used to work there ;)
this company is a rip off stay away from CONCERNED PARTNERS FAYETTEVILLE< N>C>
do no register at any mall for a free car drawing this so called company will worry the hell out of you I am going to report the tomorrow am to the north carolina general
We never received a letter in the mail as some above have. We entered into a drawing at the mall and they called us back saying we had won a $25 restaraunt gift certificate. Of course it didn't sound bad, all I had to do was let someone come test my water with my husband and I present due to security of the person coming to our home. Again, it was between 8-9pm, so there was no issue with us both being present at that time. We went into the night just waiting for the testing to be done so we could get our gift certificate, but after the very knowledgable guy testing our water showed us what all was in our water, we were happy to buy the product, especially with the warranty it came with. The company is Eco Water, not Echo Water, and is located at www.ecowater.com...Fayetteville, NC location is on Morganton Road. They are not a scam and we had our water treamtment unit installed the very next day; they also told us about when we move and how much it would cost (free uninstall for all and free install for in-state/small fee for out-of-state moves). They also let you know that when you buy their system you get a 5-year supply (for the average 4-person family) of cleaning products...and I LOVE these products, especially the shampoo and multipurpose cleaner. The only harm in calling them is having someone come to your house to test your water...but yes, you do have to go to the building with the paper they give to actually receive the real gift certificate...but that's not hard either. It's a great company and the products are wonderful!
Thank you for the info. I was really tempted to call this number myself. I am in Atlanta and the number to call is 770-709-2288. That "Barbara" sure gets around! I think it's worth noting I did some stupid IQ test online last year whereby I needed to put in my phone number, and found out 2 months later they were charging my cell bill $14/mo. for some scammy thing I didn't ask for. After reading the above posts, I suspect this is similar.
