These guys just tried to scam my grandmother. they wanted her name date of birth and asked if she could verify her ssn for the insurance. I got on the phone and asked what pharmacy he was calling from, he then hung up on me.
these scammers are calling on saturdays now. i don't answer any numbers i don't know who they are. i think this call came in earlier and was unknow name and unknow number. so now it is name not found. computer scamming foreigners.
Slim, you are an idiot. They call my number, I do not owe them any courtesy whatsoever. You must be a telemarketer scammer yourself. Respect indeed. They need a real job or go live under a bridge.
Slim is no idiot. He is a highly respected, long time regular here. If you had the ability to comprehend his post you'd understand the points he was trying to make. He never implied that you had to show telemarketers any courtesy. He never mentioned giving them any respect. He said that you should take some of the responsibility for controlling telemarketers upon yourself.
The DNCR is not a call blocker. It is not a baby sitter. It is a list of people who don't want to be bothered by marketers that law abiding marketers purchase from the gov't. & are required to abide by in their marketing campaigns. That's all it is. A list. It is not free. At least not large compilations of it. Which is why many marketers don't use it. They can't afford over $16000 for the full list & the crooked marketers wouldn't abide by it anyway.
People that whine about the DNC list not working are doing exactly what Slim said. They aren't understanding what the list is or what it's supposed to do. They didn't read what they signed up for. They're the people who complain when the gov't. does something & complain even more when the gov't. does what it does best...nothing.
