These guys just tried to scam my grandmother. they wanted her name date of birth and asked if she could verify her ssn for the insurance. I got on the phone and asked what pharmacy he was calling from, he then hung up on me.
At least I know where these calls come from. WARNING: I USED TO watch videos on a site called Viralnova. The videos on that site are randomly embedded with programs that cause your computer to go to a FAKE page that's a screenshot of a FAKE window from a FAKE/COPY of a certain antivirus brand. Once you get there you can't close the page, the tabs, or even change tabs. A female robo-voice keeps chirping a "warning" and the window you can't close says you're there because a program has made it through the firewall or some statement like that (IT HAS NOT) and for you to call an 800 number for immediate technical help undoing it (you download the virus YOURSELF by following their directions, according to another page on 800 notes). I got this once off Viralnova and just called the number to verify it was a fake/scam. I got a man with what sounded like an accent from India that was so thick I could hardly understand him. I took the computer to my LOCAL shop and they fixed me up in no time! Looking back I know they mean viral videos in the literal sense.
