Just got the automated recorded call from them. This is the 8th time in the past 3 months. It's a scam, if this happens to you report them to the irs fraud department. But sometimes I just love to call them and go along with it actin like I'm really going to pay just to mess with them and troll them as long as possible playing dumb to keep them on my line so that it takes away from them trying to scam someone else that doesn't know what's going on.
Jamie, don't let the ba$stards get to you. Get a call blocker for your landline and download a call blocking app for your cell. Here's the 800notes forum on call blockers.

These are low life thieves and they get a big kick out of upsetting us...don't let them. Here's some information on the scam and some good news about 5 of the jerks that were caught (the last link). Be well. :-)

Same thing happened to me. I received several calls from that number. When I called back, some times a Jamie ( with an accent) would answer or it was a non working number. When I finally did get through, they told me that I had not paid taxes for 3 years, and I received money that wasn't owed to me. They were going to take me to court, and come to my house and take my assets. Then they were going to fine me and put me in jail. When I told the man ( with an accent) that I file jointly with my husband and we paid to have our taxes done, he hung up.I called back minutes later and it was a nonworking number again. Definitely a scam.
